A child who does not acquire strong foundational skills early is likely to struggle throughout their years in school because every stage of learning builds on the ability to read with understanding and work confidently with numbers.
Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) refers to a child's ability to read with understanding and perform basic mathematical operations confidently. Without these foundational skills, learning gaps widen with every passing year. NIPUN Professionals work within districts to help ensure that these gaps are addressed early.
NIPUN Bharat was launched in 2021 to address this challenge
.Through this mission, the Ministry of Education set one of India's most important education goals: ensuring that every child achieves foundational literacy and numeracy during the early years of schooling.
In Madhya Pradesh, this vision is being translated into action across nearly 80,000 government schools, with NIPUN Professionals working alongside the state and district administration to strengthen implementation on the ground.
The MP NIPUN Professionals Program is a two-year program that places young professionals within district government structures in Madhya Pradesh to strengthen the implementation of NIPUN Bharat and ensure every child achieves foundational literacy and numeracy.
Each stage is designed to understand your motivation, leadership abilities, and fit with district-level, public-systems work.
